James William
Reed
Sep 20, 1973 — Mar 7, 2022
Cambridge-James "Jim, Jimmy, Jimbo" William Reed, 48, of Cambridge, unexpectedly passed away on Monday, March 7, 2022 after suffering a massive stroke.
He leaves a huge hole in the hearts of his family and friends. He had a heart of gold and made everyone feel loved. You could always find him listening to his music while working on cars, mowers or pretty much anything he could get his hands on. You always felt like his best friend and you knew he would give you his shirt if you needed it.
Jim was born on September 20, 1973 to Donald and Ellen (Collins) Reed of Cambridge, NY. He graduated as a Cambridge Indian and quickly learned to follow his heart. This led him into competitive snowboarding, skateboarding, construction, snowmobile drag racing, boat restoration, sailboat touring, and autobody restoration. He loved the ocean and was proud to be in the Navy Reserves.
Jim was one of five siblings. Kate Cruz (Reed), and her four children: Joshua Woodcock, his wife Stephanie and their daughter, Aurora, McKaylle Woodcock, Nethaniel Woodcock, and Kristina Woodcock. Stacey and her husband, Stephen Haviland and their daughter, Natalie. Kathleen and her husband Tim Copeland, and their three children, Addison, Spencer and Scarlett. Kevin Reed, youngest brother who resides in Connecticut.
Memorial contributions in memory of Jim may be made to the Cambridge Valley Rescue Squad, 37 Gilbert St., Cambridge, NY 12816.
Calling hours are 3-5 pm on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at the Ackley, Ross & Gariepy Funeral Home, 73 West Main Street, Cambridge.
