Columbus, OH-Irene Neye Butler Briggs, age 95, passed away June 30, 2017 in Columbus, Ohio. She was born on October 27, 1921 in New York City, New York to the late Walter and Emilie (Neye) Butler. She grew up in Purchase, NY, raised her family in both Saddle Brook and Highland Lakes, New Jersey and retired from the National Community Bank to Easton, New York.

Irene enjoyed and was accomplished at many things, including the piano and organ, baking, and knitting and crocheting. Irene was a life-long member of the Religious Society of Friends (Quaker), and a member of the Easton Friends Meeting, Cambridge/Easton Eastern Star, Easton/Women's Club and the Easton Book Club.

She will be greatly missed by her daughters, Susan A. Briggs and Joan B. (Gary M.) Klemek; grandchildren, Christopher B. (Melissa A. Keeley) Klemek and Courtney K. (Christopher M.) Knaus; great grandchildren, Abraham K. and Madeleine K. Klemek, Cole M., Roman B. and Wyatt B. Knaus; and extended family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Irene was preceded in death by her husband, John Briggs Briggs. Theirs was a true love match that lasted more than 56 years.

Interment will take place in the Easton Rural Cemetery. Remembrance will take place in late July. Memorial contributions may be made to the Easton Friends Meeting.
