Obituary

South Glens Falls-Francis J. Seymour, of South Glens Falls,  passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, February 10, 2017.  Frank was born on November 5, 1935 to the late Rocco and Carmela (Sparano) Seymour in Whitehall,  NY.

Left to cherish our wonderful husband, father and grandfather are his wife of 56 years, Josephine; his children,  Marsha, Chris (wife Kathy), and Theresa;   his most beloved grandchildren,  Amanda, Austin, Douglas, Kenzie and Cayla.  Frank also leaves behind a special cousin, Ursala Caivano, who his mother raised as a sister to him, along with several other nieces, nephews and cousins.

Frank grew up in Whitehall, NY, graduating in 1954.  He enlisted in the U.S. Army stationed at Ft. Eustis,  Virginia.

He was proud of the infamous undefeated football record he and his classmates held during his high school years. He raised his family in Cambridge, NY for 16 years, then spent the next 37 years in South Glens Falls, NY. Frank worked for 35 years for Niagara Mohawk as a lineman and supervisor. He was very active in the community. One of his proudest accomplishments, along with a handful of other men, was starting the Cambridge, NY Little League organization, which is still going strong today. He also took great pride in the congressional committee he served on, selecting young men and women to attend the service academies, for 30 years.  When he retired, he worked part time at the South Glens Falls High School as a lunch monitor. He also delivered meals on wheels.

Frank made friends wherever he went, there was hardly a place he could go, near and far, that someone didn't know him or he didn't know them. He and Josie enjoyed bus trips to the casino's, traveling and most of all, spending time with family. He has left a hole in our hearts as big as the universe, but now his body is whole and we have a special angel to watch over us.  There will be no calling hours.

A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at St. Michael the Archangel Church, 80 Saratoga Ave., South Glens Falls with Fr. Guy A. Childs, Pastor officiating.   A luncheon will be held at the church immediately following the service.
