Eagle Bridge-Floyd Herrick Brown, 90, of Eagle Bridge, passed away Wednesday morning, June 15, 2016 at his residence.

Born in Boston, MA April 26, 1926, he was the son of the late Wales and Persis (Herrick) Brown.  Floyd attended Cambridge Schools and served his country during WW II in the US. Army.

Floyd was a tractor trailer driver for most of his career retiring in 1989 from Holmes Transportation in Bennington.

He was a member of the Center White Creek Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon for many years.  Floyd was also a member of Cambridge Valley Lodge #481 F & AM and enjoyed vacationing with his wife Lois in Florida for many years.

In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by a son, Allan Brown; a brother, Stanley Brown who was killed in action in Vietnam in 1969; a sister, Freida Jakobe from Kansas City, MO.

Floyd is survived by his wife of 68 years, Lois Eddy Brown whom he married May 12, 1948; his children, Robert K. (Elaine) Brown of Shushan & Cary, NC and Mark W. (Serena) Brown of Buskirk.  He is also survived by a granddaughter, Meghan Elizabeth (Chris) Barney of Apex, NC; 2 great grandchildren, Jackson Dillan Barney and Mary Grace Barney; his siblings, Lucy Morrone of Myrtle Beach, SC, Rosie (Pete) Holden of Coolidge, AZ, Esther (Bill) Sowell of Orange City, FL and Wesley (Marie) Brown of Elmwood Park, NJ and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm Sunday, June 19, 2016 at the Center White Creek Cemetery with Pastor Clyde Fobes officiating.
