Elizabeth Ann
Rich
Feb 13, 1934 — Sep 8, 2016
Cambridge-Elizabeth Ann Green Rich, 82, died Thursday, September 8, 2016 at the Fulton Center in Gloversville, NY. Elizabeth was born in Cambridge, February 13, 1934, the only child of Mary Russell Green and Benjamin Green. She attended school in Cambridge where she graduated from High School in 1953. She was employed as a telephone operator and married William K. Rich, Jr. in March 1955. They built a home in Salem, where they raised their 4 children.
In 1975 they moved to the Shushan area near the farm Bill was raised on. Elizabeth especially enjoyed her hobby of photography from that hilltop overlooking the Cambridge Valley. Landscapes and animals were her favorite subjects and she participated in many local art shows. She also enjoyed bowling and various arts and crafts.
After Bill's death in 2011 she moved down to her beloved village of Cambridge, and eventually to the Cambridge Guest Home where she enjoyed reminiscing with old friends and neighbors from the area.
She is survived by daughter Cynthia (John) Tolbert of Glenville, NY; their children Katie(Jake) Coppola of Fredonia, NY, Aaron(Cherise) Tolbert of Niskayuna, NY, and Christopher(Kelsey) Tolbert of Fairfax, VA; son Benjamin Rich of Greenwich; son Keith(Debbie)Rich of Cambridge: their children Jamie (Nate) Brushett of Greenwich and Chris Badaloni of Cambridge; and son Mark Rich of Memphis, TN. She is also survived by great grandchildren, Charlie, Mary, Ronnie and Sam Coppola, Allyson and Avery Brushett, and Arimaea Tolbert, as well as a large extended family. Elizabeth took great pleasure in telling anyone who would look and listen about her photos of the great grandchildren!
A private burial at Woodlands Cemetery in Cambridge will be held later this year. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Cambridge Rescue Squad, 37 Gilbert St., Cambridge, NY 12816.
A special thank you to all in the community who have helped care for Elizabeth in her last years.
