Obituary

Cambridge-Edwin E. Perkins, 75, of Cambridge, peacefully passed away Monday evening, October 10, 2016 surrounded by his beloved family & friends.

Born August 30, 1941 in Clearwater, Florida, he was the son of the late Edward E. Perkins, Sr. and Sarah Washington.  Ed graduated from Pinellas County Schools in Clearwater.  He attended Bethune Cookman College in Daytona Beach, Florida and earned his master's degree from Rollins College, Crummer School of Business in Winter Park, Florida.

Ed was a chemical engineer at NASA in Cape Canaveral, Florida for 17 years and when he moved to New York, he worked for the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation as a chemical engineer for 30 years, retiring in 2010.

Ed was a Pastor for over 40 years and was the current Pastor of the Bachur Fellowship in Salem, New York.  His passion was his spiritual belief.  He was a devoted and anointed Pastor that inspired countless people from all walks of life.

Reading & sharing his knowledge of scripture were very important to him.  Ed also enjoyed and loved the beauty of nature and filled his yard with flowers.  Most of all he loved his family & brethren dearly.

Ed is survived by his wife of 40 years, Ora D. Perkins whom he married February 21, 1976; his children, Nanzetta (Alvin) Webster, Samuel Perkins, Keturah (John) Trembley and Uriella (Marcus) Graham. Ed also leaves behind a brother, Harrison Washington; 6 grandchildren, Altwon, Jamaal & Shamika Webster, Immanuel & Gideon Trembley and Selah Graham; 3 great grandchildren, Altwon, Jr. Webster, Lilliana & Jamaal, Jr. Webster and a host of nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be from 3-6 pm Monday, October 17, 2016 at the Ackley, Ross & Gariepy Funeral Home, 73 West Main St., Cambridge, NY. Memorial services will be Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at 11 am at 99 County Route 62, Cambridge, NY 12816.  The repass will follow the burial.
