Cambridge-Dorothy Joan Potter, 78, formerly of Cambridge, passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington.

Dorothy was born July 21, 1938 in Cambridge and was the daughter of the late Ruse and Barbara (Harris) Powell.

She was educated in Cambridge and enjoyed reading, listening to music and flowers.  Dorothy worked at Reis Mill in Cambridge many years ago.  She then became a stay at home mother to raise her children.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Courtney Charles Potter who passed away July 2, 2006; a son, Jeffrey Potter who passed away December 2, 2015.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Timothy (Denise) Potter of Hendersonville, NC, Nancy (Kenny) Hersey of Salem, James (Jennifer) Potter of Boonville, IN and Wendy (Doug) Squires of Buskirk.  She is also survived by her siblings, Patricia Roberts of Argyle, Barbara Hartwell of Glens Falls, Alan Bentley of Aurora, IL and Richard Powell of Greenwich; 10 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A service will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville with Rev. Debbie Earthrowl officiating.
