Saratoga Springs - Donald F. Miner, Sr., 93, of Saratoga Springs, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at The Pines at Glens Falls. Born in Cohoes, NY, on November 21, 1931, Donald was the son of Napoleon and Alice (Archambault) Miner. He graduated from Schuylerville High School in 1950 and went on to build a respected career as a contractor in Salem and the surrounding areas. Don was known not only for his skill and dedication to his work but for his deep appreciation of the people he worked with, earning five preservation awards for his exceptional craftsmanship.
A longtime resident of Salem, Don moved to Saratoga Springs in later years. He and his wife, Theresa, spent many winters in Stuart, FL, where he enjoyed walking in the pool for exercise, bowling, going to the gym, and traveling. Don had a special fondness for the Saratoga Race Track and the Harness Race Track, where he found joy in both the sport and the community.
Don was a member of Holy Cross Church in Salem, where he participated in many aspects of church life. He was also a proud Third Degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus, serving his community with humility and grace.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Theresa J. Miner; daughters Jodell Jordan of Greenwich and Juli Alfieri of Salisbury, NC; as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Donald was predeceased by his parents, Napoleon and Alice Miner; his first wife, Mary Waite Miner, who passed away in 2008; a son, Donald F. Miner, Jr.; two brothers, Vernon and Russell Miner; and his sister, Joyce Nace.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 7, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Holy Cross Church, 249 North Main St., Salem with the Reverend Liam Condon officiating. Interment will take place 11 am Friday, May 8, 2025 at Evergreen Cemetery in Salem.
In lieu of calling hours, the family invites friends and loved ones to join them for the service. Memorial contributions in Donald's memory may be made to Holy Cross Church, P.O. Box 357, Salem, NY.
Donald's family is deeply grateful for the love and support he received throughout his life. His legacy of hard work, faith, and family will continue to inspire all who knew him.
