Obituary

West Rupert, VT-Delbert Tifft, 76, of West Rupert, passed away Friday, January 6, 2017 at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH following a lengthy illness.

Born in Troy, he was the son of the late John Kaine and Ella Hay.  He was educated in West Rupert and served in the U.S. Army.  He  worked at several local companies and his last position he held was a truck Driver for Atwater Potato Farm in Salem.

Delbert enjoyed camping and nature events.  He loved to attend Native American Pow Wows and spending time with his family and friends.

He was predeceased by his wife, Wonda Tifft; a son, Delbert A.H. Tifft, Jr; a sister, Doris Dennison.

He is survived by his longtime companion and friend, Sheila Morey of West Rupert; his children, Denise (Melvin) Durham of Chateaugay, NY, James Tifft of Malone, NY, Wesley (Nikki) Tifft of Moira, NY, Bill (Jessica) Barker of Hartland, VT, Joe Barker of Clifton Springs, NY, Jessica (Joseph) Marx of Schenectady, Shining Star Schnaderbeck of Midland, TX.  He is also survived by his siblings, Robert (Carol) Tifft of West Rupert, Patricia (late Roy) Hall of Hudson Falls, Bonnie (Jim Eastman) Dennison of Clemons, NY, Ruth Royck of Clifton Park and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The family will have a celebration of Delbert's life at a later date.
