Bennington, VT-Connie L. McKeighan, 59, of Bennington, passed away Friday evening, December 2, 2016 at the Bennington Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Connie was born in Granville on December 28, 1956 the daughter of the late G. Holden and Winifred Ruth (Beattie) McKeighan.

Connie graduated from Salem Washington Academy and attended completed the LPN program at the former Putnam Memorial Hospital in Bennington earned her RN Degree from Castleton College in Castleton, VT.

Connie began her nursing career working at the former Mary McClellan Hospital in Cambridge and also at the former Putnam Memorial Hospital.  She then worked at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington and retired from the Vermont Veterans Home as the Night Nursing Supervisor where she worked for 10 years.

Connie loved to collect many things that related to wolves such as pictures and statues.  She also enjoyed crocheting, painting and knitting.

In addition to her parents, she is also predeceased by 2 brothers and a sister, Frank McKeighan, Terrance McKeighan and Patricia Williams.

Connie is survived by 2 brothers, David H. (Dixie) McKeighan of Hudson Falls and Timothy W. (Renee) McKeighan of Estiline, SD.  She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Cathy McKeighan of Salem; her special canine companion Buddy and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews & cousins.

There will be no calling hours.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, December 8, 2016 at the Rupert Cemetery, Rupert, VT with Rev. Debbie Earthrowl officiating.
