Shushan-Carolyn Elaine Keel passed away Saturday, June 8 at her home in the town of Salem after an extended illness.
Born in Stony Point, New York, she was a graduate of Haverstraw-Stony Point High School. Carol was a member of the Halliday – Nyack Assembly No. 14, Order of the Rainbow for Girls. One of the positions she held was that of Worthy Advisor.
Carol was a supervisor at a micro-film company, and after moving to Cambridge, NY, she worked in the purchasing department at Mary McClellan Hospital. For about 10 years Carol served the Village of Shushan as the Assistant Post Master. She was a very liked member of the Bone Builders in Arlington, VT. She was a member of the Stony Point Chapter #540 Order of the Eastern Star. Carol enjoyed working in the vegetable garden, and created beautiful table cloths and other objects with cross-stitch.
Carol is survived by her husband Brian G. Keel, and her brother Charles E. Dickinson who resides in Fort Collins, Colorado.
Interment will be at the Cooks Falls Cemetery in Cooks Falls, NY (Delaware County).
Contributions in memory Carol may be made to an animal shelter or animal rescue organization of one's choice or the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
