Obituary

Cambridge-Carl E. Trinkle, 76, of Cambridge, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon, August 22, 2017 at Albany Medical Center.

Carl was born May 5, 1941 in New Milford, CT and was the son of the late Ernest Frederick and Bertha Rose (Drumm) Trinkle.

Carl was a 1959 graduate of Cambridge Central School and had served in the Army National Guard for 6 years and was a member of the South Cambridge United Methodist Church.

He was a mechanic all his working life having worked at Salem Farm Supply.  He then started his own mechanical service, Temco Equipment and also sold agricultural parts.  He operated his business for 25 years until he retired in 2006.

Carl had a passion for fixing cuckoo clocks and making dollhouse furniture.  He restored antique cars and tractors.  When he relaxed, he enjoyed feeding and watching the birds.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother-in-laws, Walter McNall, John Slocum, David English & Edward Levine.

Carl is survived by his wife of 52 years, JoAnn Slocum Trinkle; his children, Lana (Brian) Stewart of Easton, Rae (Raymond) Schraver of Buskirk and Carl E. (Cathy) Trinkle, Jr. of Nassau.  He is also survived by his siblings, Rose (Walter) Korb of Buskirk, Wilma McNall of Clifton Park, Ernest (Vera) Trinkle, II of Buskirk and Rosemary (Timothy) Tripp of Glens Falls; his grandchildren, Nicholas, Jennifer & Joshua Langenbach, Eliza & Amelia Schraver and Abigail Trinkle; step-granddaughter, Kairyn Stewart; great grandchildren, Aubrie, Addison & Trevor Langenbach and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be Friday, August 25, 2017 from 5-7 pm at the Ackley, Ross & Gariepy Funeral Home, 73 West Main St., Cambridge.  Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Virginia Cornell officiating.  Interment will follow at Woodlands Cemetery in Cambridge.
