Salem-Mildred V. Hamilton, 87, of Salem, passed away Friday night, February 22, 2019 at Glens Falls Hospital.
Born October 22, 1931 in Indian Lake, she was the daughter of the late John and Helen (Eldridge) Corscadden. Millie graduated from Whitehall High School in 1950 and Albany Business College in 1953. She was a homemaker and of the Methodist faith. Millie enjoyed crafts and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Salem Grange and the State Grange, a member of the Home Bureau and the Leisure Club in West Rupert.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Harry G. Hamilton who passed away July 15, 2010; a daughter, Karen Hamilton; brothers, Harold Corscadden and Frederick Corscadden; a sister, Laura Hoy.
Millie is survived by her children, Judith (William) Sheldon of Queensbury, Kathleen (Todd) Cary of West Hebron and Paul (Pamela) Hamilton of Salem; a sister, Phyllis (Wayne) Fitzgerald of Greenwich; sister in laws, Dorothy Hamilton LaBarge of Hampton, NY, Elizabeth Hamilton Scanlon of Palmetto, FL and Gayle Corscadden of Greenwich. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Amanda (Josh) LaDuke, Sabrina Cary, John Hamilton and Stephen Hamilton; 2 great grandsons, Edward and Finnegan LaDuke and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be held privately in the spring at Holy Cross Cemetery in Salem.
Memorial contributions in memory of Millie may be made to the Salem Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 360, Salem, NY 12865 or the Adult Daycare Program at Washington Center, 4573 State Route 40, Argyle, NY 12809. Millie’s family appreciated the care given to her at the Washington Center over the years.
