Ballston Spa-Irvine “Buddy” H. Wilmot, 60, of Ballston Spa, formerly of Cambridge, passed away Sunday, September 2, 2018 at his residence.
Buddy was born May 27, 1958 in Cambridge and was the son of the late David Barr Wilmot, Sr. and Francelia Hillard Wilmot.
He was a 1977 graduate of Cambridge Central School and attended Keene State College in Keene, New Hampshire. He was a devout Christian and attained a Theology degree from the College of Wales, Swansea, Wales, UK.
Buddy had served in the U.S. Coast Guard and was self-employed, cleaning for several businesses in the Ballston Spa area.
The love of music, especially gospel music was Buddy’s passion. He played the harmonica and guitar. Buddy visited nursing homes playing music and he always had an infectious smile. Buddy loved nature and would play his guitar by the Batten Kill River. He wrote his own music and loved to read and watch football.
Buddy is survived by his siblings, Gerald “Gerry” Wilmot of Argyle, Pauline “Polly” (Sam) Scully, David (Gretchen) Wilmot, Jr., James “Jim” Wilmot and Robert “Bob” Wilmot, all of Cambridge. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 5-7 pm on Friday, September 14, 2018 at Jacob’s Well Family Worship Center, 29 West Main Street, Cambridge. A service will begin at 7 pm with Pastor Jim Bartholomew officiating.
A time for fellowship will be follow the service at the church.
