Francis E. "Dick" O'Hearn

Cambridge – Francis E. “Dick” O’Hearn, 82, of Cambridge, passed away peacefully at home, Tuesday, March 13, 2018 after a brief illness of Merkel Cell Carcinoma.

Dick was born January 31, 1936 in Glens Falls.  He was the son of the late Francis and Mary (Shea) O’Hearn.

Dick graduated from Fort Edward High School, the College of Holy Cross, and Albany College of Pharmacy.  He served his country with the United States Army. 

Dick founded and operated O’Hearn’s Pharmacy in Cambridge.  He proudly served his community and friends with his quiet generosity and great sense of humor for over 40 years. 

After retiring from the pharmacy, Dick enjoyed summers at their home in Wells Beach, Maine, time with family and friends, and rooting for the Dodgers and the Celtics. 

He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Hoosick Falls and the Knights of Columbus Council 10917 of St. Patrick’s Church in Cambridge. 

In addition to his parents, Dick was predeceased by his son, Matthew O’Hearn. 

Dick is survived by his wife of 55 years, Barbara Murray O’Hearn; his children, Richard O’Hearn of St. Louis, Missouri; Mary Beth O’Hearn, Bridget Rowan (Mark), and Erin O’Hearn (Brian Toleman), all of Cambridge; a sister, Anne Woodtli of Dayton, Ohio; grandchildren Adam O’Hearn (Sarah); Brian O’Hearn; Jordon Hastings; Aydin O’Hearn (David Northshield); Paige Rowan (Mario Canalini); Mattie Rowan; James Toleman and Brigid Toleman.  He is also survived by a great grandson; and many nieces and nephews. 

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, March 18th from 2:00 to 7:00 pm at the O’Hearn residence, 8 Rockside Drive, Cambridge, New York.

A Mass of Christian burial will be on Monday, March 19th, 2018 at 10:00 am at the Immaculate Conception Church, 67 Main Street, Hoosick Falls, New York concelebrated by Rev. Thomas Zelker & Rev. Martin Fisher.

Interment with military honors will be immediately following at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Cambridge.
