Elisa Bruno-McCanney

Cambridge, Town of Jackson-Elisa Melinda Bruno-McCanney, (nee, Carcieri), 75, passed away early Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at her home in Jackson.

A resident of upstate New York most of her life, Elisa was born in Providence, RI May 4, 1943 the daughter of the late Joseph and Alice Carcieri.  Elisa was a graduate of Salva Regina College in Newport, RI where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.  She continued her education at Long Island University where she received her Master’s degree in Science.

She is survived by her husband, Timothy McCanney; her sons, Christopher Bruno and David Bruno; daughters, Kim Bruno, Gwen McCanney, Tamerra McCanney and Daphne McCanney and six grandchildren.

Elisa dedicated her life to helping those in need, working as a Mental Health and Substance Abuse Counselor for several decades.  Elisa adored plants and animals and they loved her in return, a gift passed on to her by her father and shared by her children.

The family wishes to thank Community Hospice for their support and compassion.

A celebration of Elisa’s life will be held in the near future and will be announced in the Eagle newspaper.
