Cambridge-Edward Crosby Beckett, Jr., 68, of Cambridge, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at his residence.
Ed was born March 14, 1951 in Whitehall, he was the son of Claude and Doris (Clark) Beckett. Ed attended school in Whitehall and he served in the U.S. Navy. He was an owner/operator of Digby Southwest Trucking in Tucson, AZ.
Ed is survived by his wife of nearly 44 years, Diane Slater Beckett. They were married April 25, 1975. He is also survived by two step sons, Lou Burch of Huacheuca, AZ and Stephen Burch of Petersburgh; a sister, Dawn (Richard) Emigh of Galway; grandchildren, Stephen Burch, Jr., Victoria Strickland, Jessie Burch and Nicholas Burch; great grandchildren, Annabella Strickland, Sebastian Strickland and Christian Gregg. Ed also leaves behind his in laws, Gloria Howard, Sharon LaFlamme, Debbie Slater, Terry Slater and their spouses; Diane’s aunt, Judy Tuttle and friends.
A funeral service will be at 10:00 am Saturday, April 20, 2019 at the McClellan-Gariepy Funeral Home, 19 East Broadway, Salem with Fr. Paul Baker officiating. Interment with military honors will be at Woodlands Cemetery in Cambridge.
