Charlotte Mae Russell

Cambridge-Charlotte Mae Russell, 84, of Cambridge, passed away Sunday, May 27, 2018 at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington.

Charlotte was born November 21, 1933 in Pittstown and was the daughter of the late Earl and Bessie (Kate) Russell.

She grew up in Pittstown and attended Hoosic Valley Central School.  Charlotte moved to Cambridge in 1982 and had worked in housekeeping and was also a hairdresser at the Meikleknox Home in Cambridge until she retired.

Charlotte was a member of the Johnsonville United Methodist Church and also attended the Eagle Bridge United Methodist Church.  She enjoyed crocheting, sewing and puzzles.

In addition to her parents, Charlotte was predeceased by a son, Tom “Tim” Way III in 2004; her siblings, Larry Russell, Robert Russell, Ruby Brundige, William Russell and Alice Russell.

Charlotte is survived by her children, Vicky (Ken) Ruggles of Pownal, VT, Todd (Denise) Way of Buskirk and Craig (Tracey) Way of Myrtle Beach, SC.  She also leaves behind three siblings, Evelyn Straton of California, John “Red” Russell of Troy and Charles Russell of Hoosick Falls; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

A calling hour will be from 12-1 pm Thursday, May 31, 2018 at the Ackley, Ross & Gariepy Funeral Home, 73 West Main Street, Cambridge.  A service will begin at 1 pm with Rev. Deb Peacock officiating.

Interment will be in the Millertown Cemetery in Johnsonville.
