Betsy A. McEachron

Cambridge-We lost a beloved friend who was blessed us with her grace, kindness and great courage in the face of a prolonged illness.  Betsy McEachron, 72, of Cambridge died on August 22, 2018 at Washington Center in Argyle. She was able to enjoy the company of many close friends who sat with her in the final days of her illness and passing.

Born May 22, 1946 at the Mary McClellan Hospital in Cambridge she was the daughter of Horace and Marion McEachron and grew up on what is now the Lone Duck Farm in Easton. 

She graduated from Greenwich Central School in 1964 and attained her Bachelor’s degree at New York State University in New Paltz in 1968.  She was an elementary school teacher in Cambridge and Maine before she elected to serve her church as a missionary in Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland and Delaware.

She left service with her church in 1986 to care for her parents and worked in special needs education in the Cambridge Central School until health issues forced her to retire.

Her mother, father and older sister, Halys passed in 2009, 2001 and 1986 respectively. She is survived by her brother Clayton McEachron of Cambridge.  Her many friends remember her with great love.  All who knew her were touched by her resolve despite the severe physical pain she endured due to crippling rheumatoid arthritis. She has passed on to a better place but memories of a life well-lived and full of love remains with us all.

Services will be Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 1 p.m. at the Ackley, Ross & Gariepy Funeral Home, 73 West Main St., Cambridge followed by interment at the Woodlands Cemetery.
