Shushan-Beatrice I. “Bea” Thomas, 88, of Shushan, passed away Thursday morning, January 25, 2018 at her residence.
Bea was born August 27, 1929 in Middletown Springs, VT, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Irene (Blake) Shepard. Bea grew up in North Adams, MA and attended schools in North Adams and eventually moved to Shushan.
Bea worked at the North Pownal Tannery before working at several area diners including the State Line Diner in West Arlington. She was also a cook at the Washington County Jail in Salem. Bea also assisted her husband Frank on their farm.
Bea had several hobbies such as fishing, playing bingo, going to the casinos and camping.
Bea is survived by her husband, Frank A. Thomas, whom she married August 19, 1960; a daughter, Judy L. Thomas of Shushan.
A graveside service will be in the spring at the Evergreen Cemetery in Salem.
