West Rupert, VT – Skyler N. Staples, 32, of West Rupert, passed away Monday, March 4, 2024.
He was born March 3, 1992 in Rutland the son of John Staples (Joann) of West Pawlet, VT and Paula Eastman (Ed) of Hanover, PA.
Skyler graduated from Poultney High School and worked for Danby Marble Quarry for a few years and then worked at R.K. Miles in Manchester, VT for the last 10 years.
Skyler loved football, hunting and living in the country. He loved being a dad and spending time with his close friends. Skyler was a loving and huggable person who was liked by so many people.
In addition to his parents, Skyler is survived by his wife, Lindsey Mattison of West Rupert; a son, Landon Staples of West Rupert; his brothers, Brandon Staples and Zack Wood (Hillary) of Danby, VT; paternal grandmother, Barb Staples of Danby, VT; maternal grandmother, Roxanne Graham (Baldy) of Salem; mother and father-in-law, Bruce and Jean Mattison of Salem; a brother-in-law, Bruce (Emily) Mattison of Woolwich, ME; his best friend, John Hamilton of Salem; nieces and nephew, Hannah, Hallie, Jasmyne, Ivy and Bruce and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Skyler was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Edwin Staples.
Calling hours will be Sunday, March 10, 2024 from 12-3 pm at the McClellan-Gariepy Funeral Home, 19 East Broadway, Salem. A reception will follow at the Salem Vol. Fire Dept., 53 South Main St., Salem from 3-6 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Skyler may be made to any branch of Berkshire Bank to benefit his son, Landon Staples.
