Joan E. (Wadsworth) Bounds

Cambridge-Joan E. Bounds, 79, of Cambridge, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at her residence.

Born September 29, 1938 in Argyle, she was the daughter of the late Morris and Marion (Deyoe) Wadsworth.

Joan lived in Greenwich until moving to Cambridge.  She was a homemaker having raised her children.  Family was very important to her.  Joan loved needlework and sewing, she made clothing for children and last winter, she made hundreds of hats for the C.R. Wood Cancer Center in Glens Falls.  She loved to bake and was called the “Cookie Grandma”.

In addition to her parents, Joan was predeceased by 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

Joan is survived by her husband of 63 years, Joseph A. Bounds whom she married December 25, 1954; her children, Julie (Wayne) Laverty of Cambridge, Justin (Patty) Bounds of Hoosick Falls, Jo (John) Shewell of Glens Falls, Joseph (Cara) Bounds of Londonderry, NH, Joan (Steven) Moffitt of Salem and Jeffrey (Veronica) Bounds of Argyle.  She is also survived by a brother, Morris Wadsworth of Cambridge; 15 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be at 10:00 am Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Woodlands Cemetery in Cambridge with Rev. Debbie Earthrowl officiating.
