Edward J. Cody

Cambridge-Edward J. Cody, 78, of Cambridge, Town of Jackson, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at his residence.

Ed was born October 15, 1938 in St. Albans, NY (Queens) the son of the late John and Rosemary (Fuchs) Cody.  He graduated from Brooklyn Tech High School and continued his education at Marist College earning a bachelor’s degree.

Ed was an accountant for many years at Grassland Equipment in Latham until he retired.

He served his country in the U.S. Navy and enjoyed riding horses and going to rodeos.

In addition to his parents, Ed is predeceased by a brother, John Cody.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Selda Maples Cody whom he married April 23, 1971; his children, Maureen O’Neil of Pensicola, FL, Edward (Nancy) Cody of Cambridge and Michael J. (Joan) Cody of East Greenbush.  He is also survived by a sister, Kathleen Miller of Cambridge; six grandchildren, Michael P. O’Neil, Sean O’Neil, Stephanie O’Neil, Lauren Cody, Samantha Cody and Jordan White and two great grandchildren.

A service will be held privately for the family at Woodlands Cemetery in Cambridge with Military Honors.

Memorial contributions in memory of Ed may be made to the Cambridge Valley Rescue Squad, 37 Gilbert Street, Cambridge, NY  12816.
